Coppell’s hockey team cruised past McKinney Thursday, 9-0, to improve to 14-3-2 on the season and move past Allen into second place in the varsity gold division of the AT&T Metroplex High School Hockey League.
The Cowboys entered the game heavily favored as McKinney currently sits in last place in the league.
Coppell started slowly and McKinney put up a fight for about 10 minutes.
But then the goals started pouring in, with just about everyone getting in on the act as 11 different players registered at least a point.
Cameron Spriggs opened the scoring at the eight minute mark before Brad Harley netted a goal. Two minutes later, Brandon Harley added a goal a Coppell was in control, 3-0.
